The reasoning behind the project,
As some Swede Demon visitors may know I already own a '71 Nissan 2400GT (Skyline) for some years. This car has been completely taken apart and it's restore process will take some time to finish mainly because of the availability of parts and the amount of body repair and paint work which needs to be done. The last 2 years I have been busy with the Volvo's and started attending some drag events with the "Swede Demon".
Although I'm having loads of fun with the Demon and lately also with the V70R I couldn't stand that the Nissan isn't available. The concept of this car just promises a lot of fun and also a good basis for drag racing, every day I regret taking the Nissan apart.
Over the years I have gathered lots of Nissan/Datsun parts. I have stripped down a Nissan 180SX "Silvia" S12 donor vehicle about a year ago and I also own a 280ZX aquired for parts mainly, the ZX isn't road worthy anymore.
August this year I had the chance to aquire a Datsun 180b. The car is in a reasonable state and with only a few rust spots it should be road worthy without to much effort.
With the parts available I decided to aquire the 180b and make it a sort of "rolling restore" project. In other words I want to keep the car available and in a driveable state as much as possible. Over time I want to convert the car to a drag capable two seater street racer.
